Went and saw Star Trek last night at IMAX with a bunch of friends. It was fucking awesome. The actors all fit their roles perfectly, the ship battles looked great, and the design of Spock's future ship with the red matter in it was kick ass. Also, I was a big fan of the complete lack of obligatory sex scenes which seem to plague most modern action movies. Apart from the 15 seconds Kirk hooks up with the green chick at the academy, they kept to the plot of the movie, which is actually the reason I saw it. Not for the PG-13 sex. Amazing. Actually, so amazing that I want to go see it again with some people in another week. It's rare that I see a movie twice in theaters, but this is Star Trek, and I'm a huge geek for it.
