A week in review

[Tuesday]
fucking up harcore

Last Thursday was a pretty shitty day, mostly because of the whole "I've been working for 9 days straight" thing I had going on. I got Friday off though, which was needed beyond belief, although for all the wrong reasons. Instead of doing the "right" thing (in this case study like a mofo and do a weeks worth of review in all my other classes) I made the trip up to Ann Arbor in order to party like a fuckin' rockstar - and did I ever.

Through a bizarre twist of fate (kinda) I found myself in possession of a fifth of Everclear and a pint of Bombay Sapphire dry gin. Not counting the various drinks in the friends dorm room I was staying in, (I bought it for her, so she owed me anyway) or all the free, although shitty, beer that would be all over every party within 10 miles. Now, it's kind of been a dream of mine ever since I started reading Tucker Max to try his signature drink, the Tucker Death Mix. Made with Everclear, Lemon-Lime Gatorade, and RedBull, this stuff is literally the Special Olympics in a bottle. Combine that with the 7 or so shots I had afterwards and I was getting ready for a fun night out.

To start the night out we went to a highlighter party which was pretty fun I guess, except for the fact no one told me beforehand and I would have liked a t-shirt to write stupid shit on. I saw some random ass kid who I'm almost positive I've never met in my life and he fucking runs up to me yelling "Whats up man! How crazy seeing you here!" and giving me a high-five. I think he was the crazy one, and not the incident of us both being at this party. I played along though like a pro and we bullshit for a few minutes talking about how "random" it was seeing each other. Whatever, I'm sure it made him happy for the moment, and it makes a funny story for me.

After a while, we slowly made our way out into the street because this girls roommate wanted to go with some guy and we didn't feel like putting up with her whorish bullshit. Let her get raped, I'll still sleep fine tonight. We slowly made our way to this one frat's "Jimmy Buffet" party, which wasn't really my thing. None of his music, too crowded, and it was a total sausage fest. Oh, I wasn't too into the margaritas either, so yeah. Lastly, we went to the frat usually visited for pre-game festivities but no one was there and there was puke on the floor somewhere so we weren't too excited for that.

To end off the night, we stumbled our way to "Big Ten Burrito". The prices were more expensive than the Moe's I used to work at, and the burritos were smaller, but whatever it was 1 am and we were starving. I didn't realize until the next morning that I was somehow coaxed into paying for the burrito of the person whose dorm room I was staying in. An $11 burrito. Awesome!

Saturday Night was pretty great as well. I got off work around 10:15 or so, hung out with some friends, and then went to my ex-manager Mary's legendary birthday/Halloween party. The costumes were pretty wild, I got to see a few old friends, and they had 2 kegs of Rolling Rock, which was pretty damn sweet. Also, some guy from the Beastie Boys "Sabatoge" video was there. Random celebrities are pretty neat.

Work!

Its been a real busy weekend, and I can't believe it's already over. Thursday involved sitting in a friend's basement watching episodes of "How I Met Your Mother", which is one of my favorite shows of all time now. Friday consisted of going to the mall, looking for "life completing" garments (those are not my words) and looking for an awesome hat (this is what I wanted.). Unfortunately, all there seemed to be were fedoras, which I'm not the biggest fan of.

Now Saturday was a hell of a day, and now that I think about it, it was probably equal to 3 normal days. I woke up at 7:55am, showered, ate, got gasoline, and picked up my friends to go up to Ann Arbor for the Michigan-Eastern football game. Now, I'm not a big fan of football, or any sports for that matter, but I do like Ann Arbor, I like being drunk, I like parties, and I like free stuff. So it seemed only natural that I'd make the trip so that I could get what I wanted, and it worked splendidly. The frat we went to was awesome, we met another friend there too, and we had free beer before the game and got to hang out in someones room with air conditioning (which was needed, since it was about 80 degrees out that day). The only real downside to this was that we were drinking notoriously shitty beer, a.k.a. the cheapest kind imaginable (Natty Ice, and The Beast), and it was all lite beer. So yeah, famously bad beer combined with lower ABV. Maybe I should be thankful though, because I would have been annihilated beyond belief if it had been "ice" beer, or even normal (maybe).
Anyway, the game was pretty fun. We sat, we stood, we cheered, we did some kinda stupid stuff with our hands and keys. I got to see some people I haven't seen since graduation last year, so that was kinda nice. It was hot as hell though, which I wasn't the biggest fan of. Also, I purchased a "Michigan Beer Pong" t-shirt for $5. Not a bad deal at all.

Once I finally got home at 5, I took an hour long nap, which ended up lasting until 7. Wow I'm lazy. Anyway, I went to go see my friend Aaron because he wanted to hang out. We ended up calling our neighbor Nathan and his friend and driving to a secret spot I discovered called "Canton 2.0". There's a whole legend behind this place, but it's a very long story. We got Coldstone, went to a secret liquor store because I wanted a pack of gum and Swedish Fish, and then walked around the abandoned streets. It was Resident Evil esque in about 100 different ways. Next we dropped Nathan and his friend off because they needed to go, and we headed out to Wyandotte in order to meet some of his random friends aimlessly wandering the street. We did that for about 35 minutes, and then went back home. As soon as I get into my room and pull out my phone, I realize I have a missed call from my friend Josh who's in school in Chicago.

So, as it turns out, he is in town. I headed over there and we talked about stupid shit thats happened since we last met. Apparently, both of his roomates at his dorm walk in with their girlfriends and nail them openly. Like, he'll be doing homework, or watching TV and people will just come in and have sex next to him. He seemed so thrilled at this. Secondly, he has a story where he's watching Southpark, and his roomate and his girlfriend (who is apparently a highschool sophomore) have an all out screaming match over something. According to him, as he turned around to look at what the hell was going on, the guy lifts his arm and beats her across the face screaming "You see what you made me do!?". Yeah. Kinda scary.

No time to update yesterday since my night took an unexpected turn. I had already made plans to hang out with a couple people and I was just thinking "We're not gonna do much, probably sit around and watch TV, maybe go to someone else's house, but other than that nothing too special.".Fortunately, while sitting in the Taco Bell parking lot waiting for the others to eat (since I had just had dinner before they called) we got a call from my buddy's girlfriend wanting to know if we wanted to come up to Ann Arbor for a while. It was only about 7:30 when we got the call, so we were all excited that we had the whole night ahead of us to do whatever.

The ride up was kind of funny/ironic in a way, mostly because we were making great time driving up. Its only a 30 minute ride, but we were making it faster than normal, however, the very second that Eric (who was driving) goes "Wow! We are really making it up in record time!" we all suddenly see a wall of red lights in front of us and signs saying the left 2 lanes end in 1 mile. Of course there are hundreds of big 18 wheeler trucks on the highway that suddenly need to get over 3 lanes, so the traffic was abysmal. Not only that, but we were less than 10 miles from the exit, so we just had to sit there knowing that it would have taken us about 5-7 minutes more to have some fun.

Once we finally did make it, everything was awesome. We walked around the dorms, me and Ashley did a "few" shots of something watermelon flavored that a friend of her roommate gave to us, listened to some music, and then went and walked around Ann Arbor for a miniature tour since I'll ideally be attending next fall. Other than that, we didn't do much else.
